Guitarist Davey Williams, together with violinist LaDonna Smith, were the major founders of free improvisation in North America as an open community of musicians. Both are from Birmingham AL, though they have spent considerable time touring in various parts of the world. Known to only those of the 80s generation of improvisers, Davey continues to generate musical light in the deep south. Jack Wright, saxophonist who knew Davey from back then, had never actually played with him until Sept. 2016, when on tour with Roughhousing. This is then their first meeting, and will be followed by more.
